Open to all high schools in Queensland!

The Thiess Spaghetti Bridge Competition is back by popular demand.

It’s a fun and educational multi-school competition and a perfect opportunity for maths and science students to gain a better idea of what engineering is all about.

The challenge

In teams of up to four, students are set the challenge of building a bridge with a limited amount of spaghetti and glue.

Bridges are then load tested at Thiess’ 2013 Ekka stand in August at the RNA Showgrounds.

The rules

The competition rules and registrations will be released in early May. It is open to all high school students in years 7-12.

For teachers looking for more information, please contact Michelle at events@thiess.com.au.

The prizes

1st place – $5,000
2nd place – $2,500
